Today I invite gratitude into my heart

Do you ever use the word or thought “blessed” ? I find myself using it more and more. It recently hit me with full force. When I heard about the recent terrorist act in London at the Tower Bridge, I stopped and took a breath just like most of you I’m sure. Why was I feeling blessed you ask? One week earlier, I and my two sisters were sitting at a café at that bridge in London! Kind of takes your breath away to think about.

I recently had the amazing opprtunity to be able to travel to a place I have dreamed about, Paris. While we would be nearby, the plan was to spend a few days in London as well. Originally, it seemed to make sense to fly into London and then take the train to Paris for the rest of the trip. At the last minute, plans were changed and we ended up in Paris first. I can’t even remember why. Here's what I do know. We would have been in London for the Manchester bombing!

Two recent terrorist acts in London and I missed both of them by a few days! I have felt since the other night a renewed sense of “I am here for a purpose”. Perhaps the purpose is to write and share lessons learned and touch other people’s lives. Perhaps it is to pursue my goal of yoga teacher training and touch other people’s lives in that way. I don’t know the answers but am opening my heart and mind to gratitude, and remembering the feeling of being blessed.

If you haven't tried using mantras in your day, maybe now would be a great time to try it! Give it try and join me in me in using gratitude mantras as part of your day. Here are a few:

Thank you for this beautiful new day.

Today I invite gratitude into my heart.

Today I will be grateful for all of my blessings.
