Intention Creates Reality
Have you ever looked back at a specific time and thought “wow that was a great day”? Those moments come and we wish we would have relished or appreciated them more than we did. This week is about remembering that it is the little moments that make a day or week special. What if you looked for moments to appreciate or be grateful for?! Just imagine how that could change everything.
This will be my intention for the week. Looking for moments to appreciate or be grateful that is. Using intentions is a valuable tool for me. Intentions came to me first in yoga. For those who don’t regularly practice yoga, intentions are something you do at the beginning of class. The yoga teacher asks you to set an intention for the class, for yourself, or for someone else. It is up to you. This is to be your focus during the class. I began recognizing that as described by Deepak Chopra “everything that happens in the universe begins with intention”.
I have heard about setting intentions for the day and also setting one for the year. I like setting one for the week. You will find what works for you. I like to say my intention out loud because I think it adds power to it. Say it to start the week. Say it throughout the week. Maybe before bed time. Maybe while you are driving. I also like to write the intention down on paper. This seems to add power to it for me as well.
Not sure where to start? Here are some ideas to help you focus in on intentions.
What would you like to build, create, or nurture in your life?
What would you like to let go of?
What words would you like to align yourself with?
What are you grateful for?
What fears would you like to release?
“I look for moments during the day to appreciate or be grateful for.” In the words of Wayne Dyer “our intention creates our reality.”
